The biggest trend at the 2013 Oscars was matching gowns and nails! The lovely ladies played down the art, and upped the chic this year with a few experimenting with sparkle and metallic lacquers. Here’s a look at our favorite starlets from last night and their chic manicures!
Jennifer Hudson looked stunning in a glittery navy Roberto Cavalli gown and smoky grey nails.
Stacy Keibler’s frosty bronze manicure complemented her fierce Naeem Khan gown perfectly.
Kerry Washington looked lovely in salmon Miu Miu and sparkly nude nails.
Jessica Chastain chose an Old Hollywood-inspired tan Armani Privé gown and a matching metallic manicure.
Jennifer Lawrence looked flawless in white Dior Haute Couture and matching nails.
Anne Hathaway matched her ballet pink Prada gown with a manicure painted with her grandmother’s initials for good luck.
Looking glamorous in Jenny Packham, the amazing Adele wore simple, nude nails.

Right now we are all about Milan Fashion Week! The collections that show during MFW are usually fun, colorful and sometimes controversial. While the fashion was outrageous, most of the nail styles were pretty toned down.
At Dolce and Gabbana the nails were clean and bare so as not to distract from the colorful collection.
Creative director Karl Lagerfeld instructed the beauty team at Fendi to keep the models looking “more young and playful” so manicurists mixed Chanel Le Vernis Ming with Mimosa and a white polish to create a chic nude-salmon color.
Nail stylists at Roberto Cavalli mixed MAC Snob and Fiestaware and topped it off with a matte topcoat to create a warm melon pink lacquer.
Missoni and Moschino stayed neutral with cappuccino and white nails, respectively.
On the other end of the spectrum, a few designers accessorized with brighter lacquer. At Aquilano.Rimondi, matching coral nails and lips complemented a graphic, jewel-toned collection. Nails at the 1a Classe Alviero Martini Collection show matched the orange, pink and ivory color palette.
